JULIAN ROBERTS Dean of Men Acting Chairman, English Department Director of Extension Studies Advisor, Pegasus Columbia Univ., B.A., M.A. Five miles meandering with a mazy motion the sacred river ran . . . . S. T. Coleridge Like Coleridge ' s river coursing through Xanadu, so you, the Class of 1957, have coursed your province of under- graduate higher education. Your early meanderings led you through the difficult years of proving yourselves equal to the challenge. . . .success as freshmen and soph- omores. Your mazy motion of methods and professional experiences strengthened that proof, and your attain- ment of the right to don academic robes has brought sureness and swiftness to the motions which realized your potential. MARY E. McGAUVRAN Dean of Women Director of Admissions S.T.C. at Lowell, B.S.Ed., Boston Univ., Ed.M., Ed.D. Prom many sources you, of the Class of 1957 have come to be one strongly integrated force. By working and playing together these past four years you have gathered strength and purpose until now with light and with truth you are ready to go along your course. Each of you will move to his untried shore sustained by the knowledge and the wisdom you have gathered in this port. you glide smoothly from this harbor outward, on- ward, and upward, may all who feel your strength he better for having sailed along your course. 12
