Even with these organizations sponsoring our parties, they could never have been suc- cessful without the cooperation and aid of the custodians and office staff. They have given many services during our four years here, and always with a spirit of cheerful willingness. We are sure that you, as we, have a feeling of deep respect and appreciation for them. OFFICE STAFF CUSTODIANS B. Meagher, F. Braden, K. Byrt, M. Atherton D. Callahan, ]. Clement, C. Mousley As we neared the end of our first ten months of college life, we decided to show our ap- preciation for the help and advice always so selflessly given to us by our Big Sisters and Brothers. We felt that they deserved something special, so we made plans for a catered chicken dinner. Everything went so well that even we, the hosts, were surprised. We felt proud that we had been able to repay, to some degree the debt which we owed our sister class. 1 6

By the time this party was over, we began to feel a longing for the warm sunshine of summer days at the beach. Perhaps this longing was a part of the reason why we enjoyed so much the picnic which you, our newly elected advisor, gave for us at your summer cottage in Rockport. It was like a preview of summer vacation, and it soon became a looked-forward-to annual outing. Soon final exams were upon us, and we realized that one full year at L. T. C. was com- pleted. All sense of strangeness had disappeared, and we felt like veterans of college life, when we sang our songs on Class Day of 1952, the day which ended our first year of being college students— a year made memorable by your guidance and encouragement. 17
