They proved the falseness of our first impression, however, by the affection which they showed us at our first party at L. T. C— a party given in our honor by the same Juniors who, just a few days before, had caused us to shiver in fright. It was at this party that we were given our first hint of the friendship which was to grow and flourish during our two years together. When our sister class left the College in 1953, a void was created in our college life which has never again been completely filled. The Junior to Frosh Party was our introduction to the many different occasions which we enjoyed during our freshman year. Soon afterward, we held our first college dance. We wonder if you remember, as we do, the wonderful time had by everyone who attended. Not many of us will ever forget the dancing-girl panel-decorations, which be- gan as a serious artistic venture, but ended in almost hysterical hilarity, and added greatly to the fun of the party. With our first party a success, we plunged into our social life with confidence and an- ticipation. We scarcely realized, however, just how much this would include. First of all came the annual Fathers ' Night. Many a dad and daughter left this event with a light heart, but tired feet, from the strenuous square dances so well loved by members of both generations. Although Fathers ' Night was a favorite with many students, others enjoyed even more the magic of our Christmas Parties. Who could help but feel the contagious excitement mirrored on the faces of the children who visited us, making ours a true Yuletide celebra- tion 1 ? 13

When we recall the warm welcome given to us by all of these faculty members, we can- not help but remember the contrast of the first greeting we received from our sister class. It was so friendly!- FRESHMEN DON ' T SMILE! We shook in our shoes every time we heard these words, or spotted the too familiar pink ribbon which symbolized the au- thority of the mighty Juniors. There were times when we were sure that our sister class really hated us. 12
