with kneesox and whitebucks. L.T.C. was, at this time, in the process of having its face lifted while being fireproofed. Our cafeteria graduated from the basement floor to Room 105 and we now enjoyed, along with our sandwiches, the musical ability of various students. This month also saw the presentation of the first play at Lowell Teachers College by the Drama Club, created this year by Prof. Kansanniva. The title of the play was The Night of January 16th which was the story of a trial. Our verdict was filed as Excellent for the entire performance. Along about this time we were quite busy getting set for Purdy, dressing for interviews, and anxiously anticipating contracts. The Spaghetti Supper, put on by the Jr. class and cooked by head-chef Prof. Procopio, was very delicious and the entertainment which followed was almost equal to a Broadway production. L . « Bkn i w C Mmb lig r f i Go, go, go!! Soon many of us were preparing to get ready for the yearly mountain trip and the stay at Russells Lodge in North Conway. How can we ever forget the red flannels, the ever popular twin racoon coats, and the numerous ski P.j. ' s. In February, Lowell Teachers College made the headlines as near tragedy struck our col- lege. Fire broke out as sparks ignited a closet on the basement floor. But First Aid knowledge plus calm, sensible thinking prevented disaster. Next came the problem of where L.T.C.-ites could continue going to classes and our friends across the river generously offered us their new- est building for classroom purposes. The tunnels, going here, going there, ping-pong. Lounge activity, R.O.T.C. drills, machinery, and new male faces all added up to cluttered confusion as we proceeded thru our first week in our V L ST Brownies. new home. By degrees, we began to settle down and take everything in our stride as we became slowly accustomed to the Paper and Leather Building. None of us -will ever forget the fun and laughs enjoyed by all during that well-planned Senior Week. Of course, we all hated to see such good times come to an end but graduation loomed ahead of us and preparations were made. Finally we realized that graduation had ar- rived much quicker than we had expected. We felt quite proud as we received our hard-earned sheep-skins and felt rather sad and happy at the same time to have reached our goal. A wonderful four years came to a climax with our attendance at the Senior Prom. Beau- tiful gowns, wonderful music, and a marvelous evening enjoyed among those many friends we had made since our entrance to L.T.C. We were now graduated, and with contracts in hand or great expectations we closed the last chapter of our college life, and looked anxiously forward to the future which was now awaiting us. Ground-Breaking Ceremonies. 17
