President Wilson H. Eikins C INCE SEPTEMBER of 1954, Dr. Wilson H. ► Eikins, President of the University of Mary- land, has guided the students of the University toward higher goals and standards in ethical as well as scholastic facets of living. A man of out- standing abilities and achievements. Dr. Eikins has time and again proven his leadership in education administration. From 1928 to 1932, Dr. Eikins did under- graduate work at the University of Texas. He was a Rhodes Scholar from 1933 to 1936, and at the end of that time he received his Bachelor of Letters and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Oxford University, England. In addition to these, he was recipient of two honorary de- grees: from Washington College, in 1954, and from Johns Hopkins University in 1955. Dr. Eikins is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor fraternity and Who ' s Who in American Education. Besides this list of high academic achievements. President Eikins demonstrated great athletic abilities during his undergraduate and graduate career at the University of Texas. 28
