Fraternity rushing was a new and thrilling experience for us, and showed us a bit of the social side of college. That was the year our famed alum, Charlie Keller, returned; we honored him with a trophy and a review of the regiment.

One warm fall evening we declared war on the sophs, and found them waiting for us in front of the Chem- istry Building. Al Ruppersberger, our president, emerged from the fracas with a new haircut — sopho- more style. A few weeks later Homecoming arrived and we joined the rest of the students in welcoming tack the grads. Our grid team met defeat almost every week and Coach Dobson resigned at the end of the season.
