Agricultural Experiment Station The Maryland Agricultural Experi- ment Station is the research branch of the University. The investigations in progress major on the problems which will contribute towards the economic production and betterment of food for human consumption. Maryland is excc ' ptionally well suited by soils and climate and by location with reference to markets for the production of human foods. Every student in the University of Maryland should become familiar with the general character and scope of the Experiment Station work as it will surely be an asset in his life ' s work, no matter what course he may be raking. The Experiment Station has about one hundred and fifty different investigations in progress. These are being pursued in the twelve research departments. The results will contribute towards improved and more profitable farms; better farm products, and methods of marketmg them. Harry J. Patterson, D.Sc.
