Dr. Noel E. Foss Dean of the School of Pharmacy DEAN ' S MESSAGE To the Class of 1960 : Graduation is traditionally a time for both a backward and a forward look. Actually. the term graduation does not connote the completion of education: rather, it implies that a certain educational level has been reached. The other term used for this academic milestone, commencement, is a more descriptive term for it implies the beginning of a new educational process. It is quite possible that many of you will never enroll again for a full course of instruction in a school or university, but it is our desire that you do all in your ]50wer to continue your education in pharmacy through- out your entire life. I recommend a program of reading, attending seminars, associa- tion meetings and professional discussions to each of you, for in this manner you will continue your education throughout your entire professional career. The faculty, staff and administration of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy join me in wishing to each one of you success, health and happiness in all that life holds in store for you. Noel E. Foss, Dean
