In Dedication In a time when so much emphasis is placed upon mass education, mass produc- tion, and mass destruction, we pay special honor to a man whose life and deeds chal- lenge the mass trends. Dr. Robert W. Buxton, Professor and Head of the Depart- ment of Surgery, represents the epitome of personal excellence, the antithesis of conformity. He is well known to us as a scholar, teacher, and medical historian. He is a ready friend to the student and wide- ly acknowledged master of his surgical art.
