ACTING DEAN OE WOMEN This year is over with its thrills, experiences, and adjustments, its failures and successes. Memory locks it fast away, but the fra- grance of a flower, the color of the sunsets, a word, a name will unlock that door and bring back this year to you. If you have been wise in taking the beautiful and difficult together in your stride as experiences to enrich your life, these memories will be precious. For me this office has been a promotion bureau for all student activities. The effort has been to maintain a policy of watchful, patient, understandingqguidanceg to create an atmosphere of good breeding, good humor, good-will, and a spirit of appreciationof education and your advantages in Mary I-Iardin-Baylor College: to develop principles of honor, self control, good citizenship, and integrity: to offer the best in ideals and standards, It is the purpose of this college to prepare you as a young woman of this generation for more than making a living or the taking of a married name, but to lay upon you as young college women the responsibility of using your training in your own community, to lift the social, civic, moral, and spiritual tone by the part you play in each of these organizations. To our Seniors, I would say, go-and live beautifully all your days, strengthened by the training and memories of these college years! I call you other classmen back-to grow here a while longer until you are ready to face the world with the same spirit of those great men and women who have made Mary I-Iardin-Baylor College. Always your friend, MRS. JAMES B. LEAVELL
