The object of the society is to promote scholarship among undergraduate students, leadership and character. Each year the local chapter takes in new members with junior, senior, and graduate standing: sends a delegate to the annual convention, and has a banquet with an outstanding speaker for its guest. Treasurer HISTORY The Spanish Society, Sigma Delta Pi, was founded November 14, l9l9, at the University of California. In 1921 it was agreed to invite the Spanish circles of other universities to join with this society, making a national organization.
