Riach Contrary to the popular theory, Clarence has combined active parti- cipation in every field of faculty athletics, with a top scholastic record. Through- out lectures his favorite comment is, This is silly, we should be out making money. The legal pro- fession will be enriched by an aggressive, forthright, and very promising young man. Percy Raymond Stapley Percy entered University in 1944 and completed his Arts Degree at United College. An honour student in Law, his favorite sports are soccer, skiing, track and field and girls. Percy held position of Presi- dent of Athletics at United. His aim for the future is to make money. I. F. Reeh Taylor England's contribution to our hal- lowed halls, Reeh Cprcnounced Rayl is a Navy type who has exchanged sweeping the seas for the less hazardous task of sweeping the kitchen. Has the faculty of stumping the lecturers, the class and himself with pertinent questions. Poge 164 John T. Moyles Wolseley, Sask. Was overseas with the R.C.A.F. for five years and still finds time to attend C.O.T.C. regularly. ls often seen escorting his wife to gay parties. He is all set to hang up that shingle in a Manitoba town. James Simpson Winnipeg, Man. lim is an Air Force veteran whose friendly dis- position has won him a high popularity rating among his fellow law students. He is happily married, is a bridge enthusiast thas won several tournament prizesl. His future plans are not definite, but lim has the qualities which assure his future success. Sidney I oel Spivak Winnipeg, Man. Completed 2nd year Arts Manitoba University, winning the B'nai Brith Scholarship. An honours student in law, Sid won the lsbister Scholarship, National Trust, and Carswell prizes in 3rd year. Extra-curricular activities- President of Hillel and leader in Faith Councils in Winnipeg. Louis I . Stack Calgary, Alberta. This proud native of Calgary came to us by way of Queen's University following a stint with the Canadian Army. He has the appearance and personality of one not easily perturbed, the unfailing lrish tendencies, will rally in short notice when the occasion arises. Malcom H. Stanbridge Quiet and reserved, but can be a man of action when the occasion demands. Favors the classics in music, and the country life. Con- siders himself an enlightened Con- servative. Bud's sincere, aggressive attitude makes him unanimous choice for classmate most likely to succeed. Believed to have considered university as sanctuary from clamouring ladies but not adequate protection from one who will lead Bud down the aisle very soon. John G. Karasivich Oakburn, Man. Attended Oakburn High School. In 1930 completed second year Arts at University of Manitoba. Spent seven years as land appraiser with Manitoba Re- habilitation Commission. In 1940 enlisted with R.W.R., served over- seas with Captain's rank. Entered first year law in 1948. Married in 1935. Has wife and three children. Veteran's organizations take up his spare time. M. Martin Winston E. Norton Charming, friendly and popular- well remembered by the many committees with which he has been connected in Arts and Law. Studious, scholarly and active in community life, he is the only consistent dissenting ludge of the Moot Court of Appeal. Received his pre-legal education in the class- rooms of United College from which he emerged with a degree in Arts in 1948. Lawrence Gillis One of our perennial bulwarks in the field of athletics as a tennis semi-finalist and golf enthusiast. Wilf Gillis The most carefree individualist ever to mystify legal lecturers, Wilf has proven himself capable of assimilat- ing vast quantities of knowledge in a few hours. Wartime naval service, and a splendid athletic record, are items he managed to acquire when he wasn't reading, may even take more time off in the future to practice law. .lames Mathew Killey Winnipeg, Man. High School, Gordon Bell and after two years service with the Navy, the Manitoba Technical Institute. Robert Edmond Trudel A native of Norwood and a veteran, Bob excells in French comedy both on and off the stage. Wilt has a logical approach to all problems. Always a champion of physical fitness and active partici- pation in sports, his versatility will be an asset to his community. Fred Heap Naval Veteran and active in Naval Reserve, debater and ballet dancer. Fred is the prime example of how to get through Law School with a minimum attendance at classes.
