We were fighting the same foe then as we are now and were moving towards an inevitable victory then just as we are doing now. It is for you with your specialized knowledge to hasten that victory and after- wards to apply your knowledge to problems of peace and reconstruction in such a way that the present disaster will not be repeated a third time.
