32 SALMAQUNDI Within the fort and still remains near the cast side partially filled with a stro , little way outside of the old fort dock may be seen an old hulk with blackened ribs and keel half hidden in 7 . the sand, which is supposed to have been one Ol the number sunk by Vaudreuil in February, 1757. Shell and cannon balls have been taken from it at different times and in 1820 two small cannon were removed from the wreck.
