Regardless of what came their way, a $504,000 budget cut wouldn’t stop the Indians. They beat Southwest Texas 17- 14 in NLU’s first home game of the sea- son. Funds were increased in the College of Business, the School of Pharmacy, and the Department of Computer Science to help them meet accreditation standards. To help provide additional mon- ey, tuition increased $50 for the summer session and $114 for the fall semester. The university, individual de- partments, and students had to re- evaluate and take a hard look at what was important. They concentrated their efforts and pulled together to keep NLU strong.
