But it's undeniable that the institution you're from is a key factor in the hiring. Richard Furst, dean of the College of Business Economics, had little sympathy for Denemark. The dean of the College of Education resigned, saying he didn't have enough funds, said Furst. His student-faculty ratio is nine-to-one. Mine is 28- to-one. I would have to hire 170 new people to catch up with him. Furst expressed some of the same concerns as Denemark, but emphasized that they were on a larger scale at his ‘'The state as a whole has never made a commitment to education...
