The paid professional staff is made up of a sta- tion manager, program director and four program assistants. lournalism students, under the supervision of a School of Jour- nalism faculty member, provide news cov- erage. One of 300 stations in the nation that are operated by educational institutions, the station began broadcasting in 1919 un- der the experimental license 9YA.
