That ' s Orientation SWING YOUR PARTNER, the voice called, so Nancy Anderson and Charles Antrum did so, as they square-danced during Play-Night at the Fieldhouse. FINDING that SUI differs greatly from Austria, Adolf Opel asks Gloria Cleaver for directions at the information booth. DR. BUSH is one of the many faculty members who entertain new students during orientation week. Multi-mass meetings . . . ex- asperating tests . . . the awe- some President ' s Open House . . . ciiaotic registration — when we had survived all this, we were real SUI students. 24

AFTER THE PRELIMINARIES, comes the chaotic process of actually registering. Perfect schedules become disrupt- ed as sections are closed. Then the revamping begins. . . Closed Sections WAITING in the first of many lines, students debated how they could get into the Fieldhouse early to register. Some tried, most failed, the maiority stood, resigned. ASSAILED it the exit after registering, students are asked or cajoled to sign up for a 1958 Hawkeye yearbook.

CPC PRESENTS ... was the Central Party ' s booth theme, as enthusiastic students signed on the dotted line. . . 25
