The hospitals create a lofty and inspiring skyline when seen from across the river . . . a complement to east side with its Old Capitol, Late afternoon shadows from the gothic hospi- tal tower. and the picturesque stone walk to the Quad and the fleldhouse lend distinctive charm to the west campus.

We breezed through months and months of warm, dry Indian sum- mer: but the way those 7:30 classes got earlier every morning let us know it was really autumn. We saw Old Capitol get a beauty treatment, and proudly lift its golden dome into the October blue. Nearly every day we noticed another tree put on its bright autumn foliage, and suddenly drop it off. Tons of paper napkins and ingenu- ity made one of the best Homecom- ing parades ever.-and no one was upset the next afternoon but Ohio. We walked home from the game in a happy daze, and caught zz glimpse of the rocket corn monument burning triumphantly. Vital between-class minutes flew by as we watched the mysterious go- ings-on in the big hole by the Phys- ics building. More often than not we had to climb over piles of people and coats in some remote classroom, when the last echoes of the familiar bell had bounced olf the Old Dent building. and the last howls of the dogs had died away. 5 ww f um.
