PROVOST LYLE LANIER, Prof. Norman Graebner and President David D. Henry prepare for Honor's Day. More than 3000 students attended the program at which Dr. Graebner spoke. It All Began with Mom Once every year moms trade their dishes and dust mops for an exciting weekend at Illinois. Housing groups, the Mother's Association, and the Illini Union planned activities to guarantee the success of the weekend. The Spring Musical, Glee Club Concert, and Garden Show provided the moms with a variety of activities from which to choose. In addition, the Illini Union sponsored a fashion show. The weekend also included the Honors Day Convocation, Mortar Board initiation in President Henry's formal gardens, and the March of the Honoraries on the quadrangle. The latter was climaxed by the crowning of the May Queen. MEMBERS OF TEN honor societies march down the quadrangle during the March of Honoraries. 25
