Turner is the unifying and coordinating official. His stall consists of Associate Dean Harold S. Dawson, director of placement, and Assistant Deans Arthur Hamilton and George H. Bargh, in charge of for- eign students. Miss Miriam A. Shelden, Dean of Women, has as her assistants Miss Agnes G. Tandberg, asso- ciate dean of freshman womeng Miss Mary E. Harrison, assistant dean of independent womeng Miss Eunice Dowse, assistant dean of residence hall counselingg and Miss K. Patricia Cross, assist- ant dean of sorority women. The Deans Aiding Dean of Men Edward E. Stafford are Howard C. Neuberg, newly appointed assistant dean of fraternity meng Richard E. Hulet and Calvin Silferd, assistant deans of independent meng Gerald W. Peck, assistant dean of student employxnentg and V. James Hampton, assistant dean of student organizations. V l. Dean Charles C. Czivcny The University in the Lakev was established in 1946 by the University of Illinois at Navy Pier in Chicago. Professional curricula in architecture, architectural engineering, physical education, and a program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing are offered. Also available are complete pre-professional courses of study in liberal arts and sciences, commerce and busi- ness administration, and engineering. Both the basic and advanced courses in ROTC are included for men students. Students enrolled at the Chicago Undergraduate Division have the same status as students lnatriculatiug on the Urbana campus.
