He attended the Chicago College of Pharmacy where he received his Ph.G. in 1892. Since that time he has been constantly on the faculty of the School of Pharmacy. He served as an instructor until ' b 1900 when he became a Professor of Histological Botany and in 1913 Pro- fessor of Botany and Materia Medica. He served as Acting Dean from 1914 to 1919 when he assumed his present position. DEAY WILLIANI B. DAY 9 5 increase over last year and is the largest in the history of the school. DAVIS O DOUBT the most outstanding recent feature in the work oi the College of Medicine was the opening of the new Research and Educational Hos- pital in 1925. During the past year the work has speedily progressed, and at the present time, 150 pa- tients are housed here. Practically all departments are now organized, and active teaching and research is 'l'l'lE CDLLEGE DE MEDICINE Davin Jom: Davis, Dean of the College of Medicine, was born in Racing Wisconsin, on August 10, 1875. He studied first at the Racine Academy and later at the Universities of Wisconsin, Vienna, and Freiberg, and at Rush Medical College. He served in the capacity of Pathologist at St. Luke's Hospital in 1911-13, and became a Professor of Pathology and Bacteriology at the College of Medicine in 1913. He has written several treatises on Bacteriology and is the author of other medical papers. He began serving ,hrst as Acting Dean in April, 1925, and succeeded to the Deansliip in Sep- tember, 1925. going on in connection with the medical school. This hospital has furnished something that the College of Medicine has never had before, namely, hospital pa- tients absolutely controlled so far as their medical service is concerned, thereby providing for the study of cases in a way that is not possible in the ordinary private or semi-public institutions.
