 The student population can select from more than 130 undergraduate major fields of study, master 's degree programs in more than 100 fields, and doctoral degree programs in more than 40 areas. More than 200 registered student organizations, including 25 nationally recognized fraternities and sororities, give the student a chance to share experiences through host programs and get-togethers on a regular basis. The Cougar intercollegiate teams compete in the prestigious Southwest Conference and have earned national recognition in basketball, football, baseball, track and cross country, tennis, and golf. s
