Ben Shepard. Homecoming Committee Chairman. Chancellor Kichard Van Horn. Friday evening, administrators, faculty, alumni and students alike shared hotdogs and lemonade at the Festival of Champions in Cullen Family Plaza. The Pep Rally followed dinner, complete with three parachutists. After that, we all trooped across campus to view the Bonfire. On the way, we were treated to a fireworks display which the UH Band simultaneously labelled ncat-o, far out, marvelous, killer and other enlightening adjectives. Alpha Phi Omega drenched the rain-soaked wood with diesel fuel so the Bonfire could go up In flames. Literally. Then we all danced the night away in the Houston Room. Of course. The Team met the SMU Mustangs in the Dome on Saturday. APO Bonfire. 24 Campus Life

Homecoming Festivities began with the announcement of Mr. and Ms. U of H: Kim Havard and nick Lanza, both representatives of the Pre-Law Society. The international students donned their aprons and cooked up a storm in front of the University Center for a three-house three-hour Food Fair. At the same time, the Sigma Chis hosted a Chili Cook-off in Lynn Eusan Park, and then there was the Pizza Eating contest in the U. C. Arbor. Thursday brought the Beauty Bowl in Robertson Stadium for the Dormies. Friday rolled around, heralding A Day in the Park with a carnival-style theme. The Pikes hosted their annual Rope Pull and the Tekes sponsored their annual Keg Roll. Of course there was the usual Parade, Danny Davis (an old UH Quarterback) was Grand Marshal. There was also the usual rain for our parade. Homecoming 23 Coach Yeoman and the Cheerleaders.
