Dormies' Dilemma — Cafeteria Food It's a m ixture between aeronautic space food and microwave burritos from Stop-n-Go. Despite the excessive use of ketchup and salt and pepper, dorm food can never replace fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy from Mom's Tappan range. With 2,500 students occupying the dorms, the university has two cafeterias. Dorm residents of Moody Towers can be found with meal cards in hand at the Moody Towers Dining Service located between the north and south towers. Students living in the Quad stand in line for warm food and company at Oberholtzer Hall. Since dorm students are footing the bill for their food, their com- ments on the quality of food and the amount are often voiced. The food is over-cooked most of the time, but breakfast is usually good like the variety of foods. Overall, I'd say the cafeteria is a good place to meet people and see your friends, said Ed Mousselli, a junior engineering major from Syria. Senior Shirley Bowles, a chemical engineering major from Brookshire, Texas has quite a different view than Mousselli. The food isn't in enough varieties — Not enough fresh fruits and vegetables. It's good food, well, edible anyway. As far as eating in the cafeteria, the Quad is the best because it's more of a home-type atmosphere than the towers because of the smaller tables and the size of the room. It makes it a lot easier to meet people. If all else fails when it comes to dorm food for residents, Fren-chy's Creole Chicken and Pizza Hut is only a phone call away. — Johnnie Fritz 29
