Fall Starts With Splash The fall semester started at UH, Monday, August 23, 1982. Besides the usual frustrations of finding classrooms, students were generally optimistic about the coming year. I feel really good about this year, remarked Eloisa Martinez, a sophomore Honor student. I'm always ready to get started after goofing off in the summer. Fraternities and sororities began their search for fall pledges, enticine prospects with smokers, rush parties, and dances. The Residence Hall Association geared up to alleviate new student blues with various activities of their own. 18
