RIGHT: faces and symbols of protest mark the campus- The badge of law 'n order, the black armband of mourning, the orange balloon of hope represent student views of what is right and wrong with America. FAR RIGHT: The year was a trying one for administrators, as reflected in the strained face of BUI Yardley, vice president of Student life, as he tries to pacify tense crowd, facing touchy decisions ranging from tree removal to flag lowering, the policy makers of UH desperately moved to quell student unrest. 26
