Registrar RAMON A. VITULLI REGISTRAR KEEPS ACADEMIC FILES Many details about a University of Houston student's academic life, including bow many and what courses he is taking, bis current grades and bis scholastic standing may be found in the Registrar's office. A graduate of the University of Houston. Ramon A. Vitulli was promoted to his present position of registrar in 1950. Mr. Vitulli had previously held the position of director of admissions. Counseling and Testing INTERVIEWS ARE AID TO STUDENT Each year the Counseling and Testing Service schedules series of tests for prospective freshmen. Designed to assemble pertinent data as to aptitudes, achievements and attitudes, these tests are aided by interviews between students and trained counselors to determine the field of study best suited for each student DIRECTOR—Dr. Franklin L Stovall serves as a professor of psychology as well as director of the Center. Downtown School Branches SCHOOL COMBINES WORK AND STUDIES Over 1,600 academic students are served by the University’s Downtown School, located at 925 Caroline. Many of these students come from the professional and business worlds, combining practical experience with their studies. For the student interested in retailing as a career, the school offers a unique combination of supervised job experience and academic training leading to a B.B.A. degree. DEAN—James C. Taylor has been with the University since 1917 and is recognized as one of the outstanding leaders in civic work. Dean Taylor is in constant demand as a speaker for both local and national executive and sales clinics. JAMES C. TAYLOR 29 DOORS REMAIN OPEN (or classes from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and classes arc held the early part of Saturday.

Staff Placement Center CENTER OPERATES WITHOUT CHARGE More than 10,000 job placement are made each year by the University's Placement Center. In existence since 1916. the Placement Center has offices in the Recreation Building. It operates without charge for the entire student body and alumni. DIRECTOR—Miss Lou Russell came to the I niversity in 1916 to organize the Placement center. Much in demand as a lecturer. Miss Russell addresses civic and social clul s throughout the nation. Alumni Association ASSOCIATION KEEPS GRADUATE INFORMED Keeping the graduate in touch with the University is the principal job of the Alumni Association. Homecoming, an annual event especially important to the alumni, finds the group actively planning and carrying out ideas. Governed by a 20-member hoard, the Association's activities arc executed by Executive Director Ted Hendricks and his staff. Mr. Hendricks, who received a B.B.A. from the University in 1955. began working with the Association in 1957. ASSOCIATION’S vice-president John 01-eaiy and executive director Ted Hendricks. 31
