HOMECOMING DAY Humecnming Day this year was the most success- ful sn far. this due to the fact that it was also Cullen Day. dedicated to our great benefactors. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Cullen. The big day began early with a breakfast given by the YMCA Touchdown Club honoring the Univer- sity of Houston. Morris Frank cmceed the program and Cordon MvClendnn, The Old Scotchman who broadcast the game nationally, was guest speaker. The best parade in Houstunis- history took place down Main Street later that morning. In the parade were Mr. and Mrs. Cullen. Gov. and Mrs. Allen Shiv- ers. Miss Janis Carter. the exes, Honorary Homecom- ing Queen for the second year, and the four Home- coming Queen nominees. The Climax. the big football game that everyone had been waiting for. took place that night in Rice Stadium before a crowd of 55.000 cheering fans. who had a dual purpose in mind-r-tn see a great football game with Baylur University. and, most of all, to pay honor to Mr. and Mrs. Cullen. The cheerleaders did a 0bang-up jolW of blowing tlflO Jack Valenti. chairman of the day. Janis Carter. RKO star. and Roger Jeffrey. President Janis Carter. Honorary Homecoming Queen for of the Ex-Students Association. at the Breakfast given by the YMCA Touchdown Club. the second year. crosses her fingers for Cougar luck.
