Bearded cowhands, costumed coeds, log-tim- bered cabarets — they all combined to form the 19o() Frontier Fiesta, the Greatest College Show on Earth. From Tuesday through Saturday, the crowds kept pouring into the modern boomtown. For five days. UH students offered entertainment of a by- gone day. Can-cans by the dozen. Western drama, come- dy, song, dance, you name it. Fiesta City went all out to bring back the days of the cowhands and cowgirls to modern fiouston. Luscious eyefuls awaited Cavalier Theater audiences Far-famed was the Crow ' s Nest Powder Puff Revue. FRONTIER FIESTA FINALE After a five-night run. longest in history. Frontier Fiesta for 19.50 rang down the curtain on the last show. The show was over. Long live the show. With that thought in mind, pla nning began for Fiesta in 1951. The first step would be one of the toughest, trying to find a successor to fill the boots vacated by Dave Halphen, Fiesta chairman this year. With his selection announced at the Fiesta Banquet in May, another ' ' Greatest College Show on Earth would be under way made possible through the energies of the students of the University of Houston. For another year, the spirit of the Old West would lie dormant, gathering strength to return to Fiesta City next year, bigger and better than ever.
