A Fiesta auction of ten coeds and ten men as well as the Bearded Wonder (Contest kept interest alive as Fiesta time neared. During the Fiesta auction. Bob Augent- haler bought himself a date with Mildred Daigle. .Spring fever took its loll of workers. Finally through, .iiul |ii .| m imie.

The Fiesta Pageant introdured the Rrlle and Sheriff to the audienee each night. ■ y 1 OPENING NIGHT On opening night, the sedate citizeiir of Hou- ston mingled in the hrauhiig Western atmosphere of Fiesta Cit . Bearded cowhands, costumed coeds, log-tim- bered cabarets — they all combined to form the 19o() Frontier Fiesta, the Greatest College Show on Earth. From Tuesday through Saturday, the crowds kept pouring into the modern boomtown. For five days. UH students offered entertainment of a by- gone day. Can-cans by the dozen. Western drama, come- dy, song, dance, you name it. Fiesta City went all out to bring back the days of the cowhands and cowgirls to modern fiouston. Bella Union ' s gorgeous choru Soused Pacific parodied a familiar musical.
