INTRODUCTION The Mummy Case staff of 1941 pre- sents to the student body of University High School this, the second volume of the annual. This yearbook represents the work of not just a small group, but many stu- dents, some of whom were not mem- MUMMY CASE bers of the staff. It is the result of student initiative and cooperation. All major decisions in its production were made by a group vote. Thus, it represents a practical application of the ideals of democracy which are be- coming increasingly precious to us at this juncture of the wor1d's history. It is the sincere hope of the staff that this book may be worthy of the best traditions being built up in our pro- gressive, ever-changing school. May the perusal of these pages now and in future years recall pleasant memories of days spent at the Univer- sity High School so dear to all of us. 7947 UNIVERSITY HIGH SCHOOL o CARBONDALE, ILL.
