Natural Science Club The Natural Science Club, under the sponsorship of Mr. Dilla Hall, has taken several very educational trips this year. Some of these were visits to the New Era Dairy in Carbondale and to the liquid oxygen plant which is located near Harris- burg, Illinois. The club plans to visit the radio station WJPF at Herrin. A num- ber of interesting and educational experiments have been performed at club meet- ings. One of these was taking, developing, and enlarging pictures. A.'s charter was granted in 1940 with the hopes of members learning how to conduct and take part in public meetings, to speak in public, to buy and sell cooperatively, to solve their own problemsg Finance themselves, and to assume civic responsibility. The members, who are enrolled in a Vocational Agriculture course, conduct supervised farm projects at home and will engage in local and state judging, public speaking, and athletic contests. The members of the club were students who were especially in- terested in Social Studies. Meetings were held twice a month at which historical numbers were the chief entertainment.
