The direc- tor is Dr. Schulman. This class is considered as a regular history course. It consists of mock trials, which are students going against each other, at- tempting to win a criminal case by courtroom pro- cedures. Professional lawyers visit the class and offer their opinions as well as advice on the best techniques to use to prove your point. Whether you're the prosecutor or the defense attorney, the information is helpful. The Law-in-Action class also attends real trials in genuine courtrooms. Many questions must be brought out in order to delineate the importance of the case. After these inquires have been answered and the eviense is turned in, the judge allows the jury to deliberate and then he pronounces his judgement: guilty or innocent. Remember: You're innocent until proven guilty be- yond a reasonable doubt. Academics, social atmosphere, close- ness to home, financial aid, and cost are some of the things that college bound Seniors must consider when deciding about their future. In an ef- fort to make these choices easier, the Guidance Department supplies repre- sentatives from colleges, universities, business, and technological schools. Seniors also attended a College Fair at Essex County College. Various educa- tional institutions were represented. The students heard lectures describ- ing the many opportunities available to them. As students wandered through the aisles, they were provid- ed with information necessary for making one of the most significant decisions of their lives. From service academics to Ivy League institutions, the wonderful opportunities are out there. The time is now for students, particularly the Seniors, to set their goals and strive to achieve them.
