CLASS CHRONICLE 1982-1986 Our class began-with many, The success of our future to gain. The ambition-to strive for our goals, But now-only fifty-nine remain. It was a period of adjustment, To prepare for what life had in store. A time to evoke intelligence. A thirst for knowledge-then more! We plotted our school years out, And demanded the best education. Principals new—and new teachers too, Joined the school’s administration. Our desire to attain all excellence, Was definitely-increasing. While honor roll grades and higher class ranks, Were ours for the achieving. We attended classes at Rutger’s, And Junior Achievement too. Worked hard at Essex County, To gain a S.T.E.P. or two. We sang our hearts out in the Chorus, Became great Thespians and fans. Some joined the ‘Honor Society’, Others chose to play in the Band. Exotic fashions were modeled, To excite, delight, and enchance. We danced all night at the parties, We reveled at the ‘Achievers Dance’. We displayed our physical stamina, When our sports teams were obtained. Whether victorious or defeated, We gave our support just the same. Even after cycles were shortened, We didn’t find it exceedingly hard- To maintain our B-n’ above averages, To receive still-the little GOAL CARDS. Those crazy class bake sales, The cakes no one wanted to bring. The mania in the hall- Over the new soda machine. The studying and the homework, The quizzes and the exams. Our serious intentions- And things that made us laugh. When we reflect upon these moments, Our history and our past, There’s no wonder why we are now- And will always be- “The class of 86, that special class with class.” Alecia Lowry

WHAT IS A FRIEND? Friends are people who care Who will always be there When our days are cloudy and gray When we need a helping hand They are there to understand And they do it in their own special way. Through thick and through thin On friends we can depend When we feel we have no where to turn Whether you're right or wrong They hold on strong: And give you their utmost concern.

IT’s Time To Go On It’s Time to go on Seniors; It’s time to go on to higher heights and bigger things - - - No more caps and gowns, prom pictures, or graduation rings. Yes Seniors it is time to go on. It’s time to go on Seniors; It’s time to go on to another part of life. 3 It won't be easy; there will be heartaches and strife. But, my fellow classmates, try not to sigh, Just put your best foot forward and remember - - - you came from University High. It is time to go on. It's time to go on Seniors; It’s time to go on striving for success. Don’t be discouraged; just think of the best. All of the years in the past are long gone - - - most definitely Seniors, IT IS TIME TO GO ON! Cassandra Daughety
