Nancy Ward Kimberly Washington To Momma As a Mother, you tried to tell me the way of the world. But as a child, I had to find our for myself. I understand now. Momma. I see things the way they are. It hurts. Momma. It hurts to know I'm all alone. My days seem lonely. My nights seem lonelier. I try to dream of a bit of happiness. But, Momma, There is none lefl- At least none that was meant for me. I tried. Momma. Trying gets me nowhere. I'm tired now. Momma. I think I'll call it a day. I know, Momma. You say. Keep on going 'cause things will get better 'Tis easier said, than done. You tried. Momma. But I was too grown. And too damned smart! Now I'm paying for it. Paying the hard way. Well, that's part of life too. Isn't it. Momma? Paying the hard way? You paid. And you never gave up. I am a part of you. And I'll never give up. I owe my strength to you. I owe thanks-All to you.
