Stage Band The stage band is the jazz outlet of the music department. Consisting of 25 students, this group performs at school con- certs, basketball games, and the music festival. The concert band is a musical organization of students who perform major works of the con- cert band repertoire. Besides giving a number of school concerts, they participate in music festi- vals, and at district com- bined concerts.

Guitar The main goal of the University Guitar Ensem- ble is to provide rehearsal and performance condi- tions for the guitarist which parallel those offered to other instru- mentalists. They play a variety of works especially arranged or composed for them, as well as arrange- ments from other instru- mental ensembles. The ensemble performs widely. Last year at the Crossmont Guitar Festival they were recognized as the outstanding perform- ing group by internation- ally known composer, |ohn Duarte. The ensem- ble also made a full length studio recording. These achievements have led Uni ' s Guitar Department to be one of the top 5 pro- grams in the United States. Orchestra This talented group of 50 musicians perform well-known works by prominent composers. They have been involved in several concerts, per- form at music festivals, and are the accompanying orchestra for the school musical.
