Windsurfers The Windsurfing Club is a new club on campus this year and has met with great success. Because windsurfing is a relatively young sport, the club has introduced many people to a brand new experi- ence. Lessons and outings in Newport Bay, a tour through a custom wind- surfing shop, a demonstra- tion on Senior Lawn and many excursions with a local windsurfing fleet are a few of the activities the club undertook this year. Surf Club The Surf Club is one of the most active clubs at Uni. This year the club was involved in the Catalina Surf League and finished 2nd place overall. Many people competed in league finals with Alan Flores going on to State finals finishing 5th place in California. All members of the Surf Club enjoy the natural beauty of the ocean and being in close touch with nature. Surfing is the only sport that leaves no trace of man ' s presence after one ' s fin- ished riding the waves. Aloha! Each year the water ski club has an increasing membership and this year was no exception. These students not only water ski but also camp on their trips. They just love the outdoors. They claim the change of environment does them good As in the years before, the club takes one big trip per year. This year, club mem- bers spent a full week camping and water skiing at San Antonio Lake during the spring vacation. Besides their big trip, they take weekend trips to various parts of Southern California. 136 Clubs
