Competing with skill and enthusi- asm, University's Cross Country Team has kept up with the tradition of having an excellent team. As the league expanded to eight teams, Uni's runners still stayed in the competition. The season ended with the Trojans second in league and participating in the CIF finals. Lead by Tri-Captains Woody Glass, Vince Flanders, and Bryon Long and Coached by Bob Messina and Don Christianson the team trained all summer. The team is very united and spir- ited, competing with their full potential. Sports 55

Though only in itls first year, the Girl's Cross Country Team made excellent progress throughout the season. The team was composed of fourteen very competitive squad members who registered some outstanding acheivementsf' comments Coach Christensen. Led by school record holder Denise Diener, the team began the season by winning a trophy at the Costa Mesa Invitational. They continued their hard work and determination and went on to a 6 win l loss season and second place in the South Coast League. They concluded the year by coming in third in the Orange County Meet and finishing 14th overall in C.I.F. Competition.
