The Varsity Ceramics Team had an outstanding season culminating with their CIF triumph against previously undefeated Sunny Hills. As CIF champions, the Trojan Pot Merchants can look back with pride at 11051 ef- fort put forth in their many tough matches. The difference between the thrill of victory and and the agony of defeat was the outstanding discipline and team comradery displayed by the players. In marching to an over- all 22-1 season record and a 14-0 league season, the mighty Trojans defeated perenial powers Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar, San Clemente and Newport Harbor, losing only to Carmel Valley in the Santa Cruz In- vitational. Five of our players were on the league first team. These were: Jeff Breedlove, Bill Halford, Bill Mou- ghan, Jan Ecclestone, and Jon Price. This was a season that will long be remembered at UHS in the years to come. - Organizations 221
