The Varsity Girls' Basketball Team shows great hopes for the 1977 season with eight returning players on the team. Coach Dave Denstaedt has alot of confidence in them, as they have been working very hard on physical conditioning and drills. The team hopes to have a really successful season in the expanded South Coast League. The Junior Varsity Team, coached by Cheryl Elliot, is composed mainly of Freshmen and Sophomores. ymnasti The Girl's Gymnastics Team is a group of enthusi- astic and hardworking athletes. Coached by Char- lotte Schwartz and Keith Miller, the team is striving for another successful season this year in the larger South Coast League. Still competing with com- pulsory and optional exercises, the squad now con- sists of a Varsity and a Junior Varsity team. Coach Schwartz has expressed optimism about the season, commenting about her team, There are many outstanding athletes on the team who are strong in all the four events. This year we have a good chance to win the League, and do extremely well in the CIF Team and Individual Finals. The entire team hopes to continue their success this year, with greater achievements throughout the season. Spring 181
