J .V. and B Squad Battle for First Place Se: The 1978-79 .I.V. and B Squad Girls Basketball teams know what it feels like to be winners. In the Greater Spokane League they played outstand- ingly well. Lori Ann Hoyt and Cindy Chewing were named the two all-around top B Squad players, by their coach, Mrs. Steblaj. Lynn Mickelson and Lori Watson were outstanding players for the .I.V. team, which was coached by Mr. Crosby. Coach Steblaj stated that as of the middle of the season, neither team had lost a league game. Left: Coaches .lanke and Steblai plot against their opposition. Donkey Defeat For Teachers We battled the teachers until the end and naturally we came out on top , stated Scooter Ellis, captain of the student team, and President of the Letterclub. The Donkey Basketball game was played on November 7th, and was filled with excitement for both the players and the crowd that came to cheer them on. The students beat the teachers with a iinal score of 36-28. Keith Spragg was high scorer for the studentswith 10 points. All in all, the game was a big success and a night U-High will always remember. -'rt
