Diana Beuschke Represents Ll-High in Lilac Festivities On March 15, 1979, at a school assembly, Lilac judges chose Diana Beuschke as the princess to represent University High in the 1979 Lilac Festival. Dianawas chosen from the six other candidates, Robyn Aschen- brener, Kim Farance, Lori Ivestor, Julie Jeckle, Vickie Nelson and Holly Steele. The tough decision was made after all the girls had answered impromptu questions and had given their pre- pared speeches. In April, Diana competed with the princesses from all the other local high schools for the title of Lilac Festival Queen. She received a lot of publicity and had the honor of being on the Lilac float in the Torch Light Parade. f 'Qwxv Ax J eg Y KN. ig. iii-wg. -m-ifl--- .- ----f-A--L P ABOVE: Diana, Robyn and Kim listen while a fellow candidate gives her speech at the U-High Princess selection.
