Debbie Wins for Ll-High This year, at the 26th annual Miss Spokane Valley Pageant, Debbie Has- kins, Lauri Armstrong, and Danielle Meserve represented U-High. Out of these three, Debbie won the title of Princess. The three girls were selected when the Junior class members voted for their Miss Spokane Valley candidates. At the pageant, the girls were judged in the following three areas: ll personality and poise, Zl appearance, and 31 speaking ability. Here, the major emphasis was placed on the 3rd category. The girls gave prepared speeches to imaginary Valley conventions, as well as impromptu speeches. Throughout their reign, Queen Candy Chapple and her three princesses will attend luncheons, grand openings, and other social events. The girls! prizes ranged from a 500 dollar scholarship to fabric from Stretch and Sew.
