' utumn Daze' Start the Ball Rolling The annual Sadie Hawkins Dance was held in the University High School gymnasium on Saturday, October 21, 1978. The Sadie was sponsored by the Mercury Staff and their advisor, Bill Gilchrist. The band that attended was Sideshow. Dinners tor two at Clinkerdaggefs Restaurant were awarded to Jill Blackwell, Dave Goff Tina Campbell and Ken Wisoner for best costumes, which were Fruit of the Loom. There always seems to be an interesting turn-out, and a large one at that. Hopefully each year every Sadie gets her man. Right: Tina Campbell, Ken Wisenor, Jill Blackwell and Dave Golf are shown in their Fruit OfThe Loom costumes. These two couples won first place in the costume contest. Below: Other couples are shown ranging from not-so-extravagant outfits to more extravagant ones. Left to right are Chris Griflith, Jayne Sours, Doug Dixon, Lynn Eide, Myke Burito and Nan Marks. 172

Guardian Angels . Yes they really are angels! These girls have got to be really ambitious states Mr. Paul McKinney, advisor. These guardian angels have lots of fun throwing toilet paper, yarn, balloons and other mischevious things all over the football players yards, cars, hou- ses, and lockers! The players know it's all in fun and that it shows how much their efforts are appreciated. Just who their angels are is a big secret to be kept from the players. However, alter the season has ended, the guys will usually do something especially nice for their angels, such as take them to dinner. This is to show them how much their support was appreciated. Above: Up goes the sign and on goes the tape as Judy Richardson and Julie .Ieckle prepare Ted Davis's house for an upcoming football game. Immediately Above: It looks as though Dave Guyll had some fun trying to locate his car after the angel raid.
