Q iff 5 ge A summer disco dance held on the U-Hi tennis courts began a busy season for the League of Kronos, a non-fund raising organization made up of both boys and girls. The League members also spon- sored the Sweetheart Dance in February, the FatherfDaughter Dessert in Novem- ber, the Spirit Breakfast during Home- coming week, and the Senior Mothers- Tea at the end of the year , states Mrs. Mary Gruber. Sales Start Out A.S.B New Year Raising over S11,000, the '79 A.S.B. officers directed the raffle project during Home- coming week, to raise more money than ever in the history of U-High , stated their advisor Mr. Skip Drew. The A.S.B. oiiicers directed the raffle ticket sales for the trip to Hawaii and the '79 Camaro. These sales aided in paying for the new band uniforms. The officers also organized the Leadership Conferences which are held annually. During the spring semester the officers organized a committee to finance a new score board for U-High's football field and an upgrading of the P.A. system in the gym. Foreign LanguageClub 146 Base Year On Food Events Above: This year's French Club members were: First row: Aimee Do, Luis Torre, Toni Gaines, Laurel Thompson. Second row: Pam Shatto, Barb Greene, Kim Seltj Anna Thomas. Third rome Brigitte Madaline, Renee Whipple- Treasurer, Mrs. Nan Waters-Advisor. Fourth tow Tracy Harvey-Wce President, Genevieve Slater-Secretary, Holly Steele-President, Linda Kingen- Program Chairman. Above right: Mrs. Judy Moore, Mr. Joe Espinoza, and Mrs. Nan Waters were the advisors for the German, Spanish and French Clubs, respectively. Right: Doughnut sales produced sufficient iiinds for the French Club to have the beneiit of French aide, Brigitte Madeline. Dinners, Doughnuts, and Desserts! This is how the German, French, and Spanish Clubs kept themselves busy throughout the school year. The German Club held a dinner at the Hofbrauhaus Restaurant on November'2,1st, and a Christmas dinner at school on December 11th. In the Spring, the club members went to the Shriner's Hospital, bringing a little German hospitality to the patients. French Club members kept their delicious doughnut sales going throughout the year. The funds were used to bring a French student to Spokane. Brigette Madeline visited and taught the French classes, sharing with them experiences from her homeland. As for the Spanish Club, there were numerous activities planned throughout the year. Included in these activities were a Christmas Caroling party, a Spring hayride, and a dinner held and prepared atschool. The Spanish Club also held a Welcome Exchange Student Dessert, November 28th. The dessert was attended by C.V.'s foreign language clubs and our own French and German Clubs. The dessert was muy magniiico! 1 w
