Uni scored in fhe fourfh period when Cap- fain John Peferson, a sfandouf on defense all affer- noon, blocked a Hollywood pass, and Lee Blad, picking if ouf of fhe air, wenf all fhe way. Ofher oufsfanding performances were furned in by John Escobar, Jose Uranga, Bernie Nebenzahl, and Carrol Hansen. "The Besf Was Yef" Venice I 3-Uni I2 Playing fheir besf game, fhe I95O Universify foofball feam was nipped by 'rhe league-champion Venice Gondoliers, I 3- I 2. The Indian affack was sparked by fhe brillianf running of John Escobar, Jose Uranga, Arf Walfon and Dick Oliva. Nof 'ro be- overlooked was fhe equally fremendous defensive play by Carroll Han- sen, Rodgers Dorr, Frank Chabre and fhe "unsung" heroes of fhe line.
