FALL OFFICERS lack Keating, Bill Stringfellow, Stan Berman, Miss Mazziota, Georgie Wherry, leanne Le- Marinel, Mr. Ives SPRING OFFICERS Dick Hammond, Chuck Bowyer, Mr. Ives, Georgie Wherry, Louise BurriII, Miss Mazziota l4li41ifA The mystery and intrigue of the East were brought to life when the class of Summer '47 introduced their fanciful theme on Field Day. Seven harem-girls emerged from their Baghdad tent to present the class name, as other Khalifs were writing the first pages of class history on the battlefield, winning over the Continentals by a score of 4 to l. The swank Club Continental , a product of Khalif imagination and design, provided a background for the Senior Prom. Members of both senior classes enjoyed the New York skyline, sophisticated entertainment, and the Royal Blue Room. The summer class staged one of Unihi's fin- est Color Days on March 8. Everyone was im- mediately caught by the spirit of the day when they entered the insense-filled auditorium, and were transported by Alladin's lamp to the scene of the Sultan's chambers. l-lere he and his court were being entertained by envoys from neighboring lands. The class colors were presented by six girls dressed in cherry- red and gray harem costumes, since the or- dered sweaters had not arrived. The spring semester Field Day found the Khalif girls not only supporting their winning teams, but also participating in an exciting hockey game, and adding new interest to the already eagerly anticipated event. Proving that this was all in the spirit of fun, a few weeks later the Senior B's presented a fine prom in honor of the boys and girls from Baghdad. The class gave University a great deal in athletics, leadership, talent, and service. Every athletic team, the Knights, Squires, lVlawan- das, student government, service committees and boards felt a loss with their departure. Commencement in june took nearly 450 Warriors from the Reservation, and as this last chapter was written in their own book of Arabian Nights , the entire school saw with regret the closing of the never-to-be-forgotten story of the Khalifs.
