JUDY JUSTMAN ANNE LOSSIEFF MARY ELDREDGE WALLACE MERRYMAN Fine Arts Assistant editor Art Sports Trying to get into one half-size year book everything that happened in three years has put the Chieftain staff to a severe strain, particularly as it was not until mid-year that the Commissioners discovered that the OPA would permit the luxury of a school annual. With an energetic Com- missioner of Publications, Frank Farner, sparking the group, the staff consists of: Myron Axelrod, Art Editorg Anne Lossieff, assistant, Patsy Rucker, C.A.A.g judy justman, fine arts, john Oien, student bodyg Wallace Merryman, sports, with Don Michael assisting. Head of the photography de- partment is Tom Horning, Ralph Hart, jim Hervey, and Ted Lantheaume contributing. Most of the sports pictures were taken by Herbert Carleton, S'44. Outstanding members of the art staff are Betty Townsend, jackie Ritchie, Mary Eldredge, Bill Ulman, Patty Murphy, jack Dean, and Bet- ty Lou Richardson. Other members of the editorial staff are Helen Eachus, john Droeger, and john Fagin. janet Martin and Mrs. Dejarnatt pinch-hit as typists before the deadline. Miss Vir- gina Lowers is faculty advisor with Mrs. Heisig in charge of the art work. Dorothy jirsa, student teacher, assisted.
