Every week a member of the Club gave a report on some sport-baseball. soccer, ping-pong, and others. The idea was to have, each week, a new sport, or event pertaining to sports. The week before Christmas each one gave a quarter toward a basket for the poor. In the department of vocal music, there are two departments, tl1e chorus, which is elective, and provides opportunity to participate in group singing. and the small ensemble, provided for those who intend to pursue a more specialized Zlllll intensive study of music. I . T K . school participated. 'I he program. being carefully planned, produced a beauti- ful effect. Music, prepared by the Music Department, and folk dances, prepared by the Physical Ed. The first was an assembly program. for wl1icl1 the orchestra played several numbers. During the Cl1rist111as season, Mrs. Lorio's organization provided a part of the music for a Christmas program sponsored by Miss Smith. I11 May the Orchestra presented a formal program i11 the University Theatre. We feel tl1at Mrs. Lorio has made remarkable progress witl1 tl1e orchestra a11d hope that some day it may be able to compare witl1 tl1e best of high school or- chestras. This year the Club decided that it should have some kind of social activity, so a Christmas party was given at the ll0lllC of Mrs. Lorio. Everyone enjoyed l1i1n- self, a11d the next meeting of tl1e class found all members working harder than ever. 4 an 501 'zamct - The Senior production for this year consists of two one act plays instead of the conventional longer performance. These plays are directed by Miss Dorothy .-Xnn Verser and Miss Margaret Curran under the supervision ol' Miss Virginia Coyle. The plays chosen were: The Trysting Place and The Alien Note. The date ol' performance-May l2. The Trysting Place, by Booth Tarkington, is humorous romance taking place in a country resort hotel. It involves the ailairs of a widow, her daughter, and her son, who all try to keep the other members ol' the family in the dark. As a few side remarks on drama, the Dramatic Club met once a week. Dur- ing the year a scenario was written. but as yet the Club has been unable to pro- duce it. The dramatic groups have appeared 561 times during the first semester in performances of all types. The number will have been doubled by the end ol' this term. As for Radio, the groups have appeared at least four times a week. Harry XVilkerson, Frances Baker, Elaine Denham, Martha Mahoney and Laidlaw Rey- mond, under the supervision of Dr. Harley Smith, have been responsible lor these programs. THE CUE! THIRTY-ONE
